- The Italian Cypress Tree is known for its tall, slender shape. At full size, one of these cypress trees can grow anywhere from 30 to 40 feet, but often only 3 to 5 feet wide.
- Italian cypress roots travel deep into the ground, but are not necessarily invasive. Italian cypress trees can be planted close to your home as they are unlikely to cause foundation problems. Their roots will travel quite deep, but not exceedingly wide.
- While cypress trees are not dangerous for humans to be around, the same is not true for pets. The Italian cypress is known to be highly poisonous to dogs and horses. It may be worthwhile to consider another type of tree if you have any outdoor pets.
