- Our semi-dwarf variety of Granny Smith apple trees will grow to about 8 to 15 feet in height with anywhere from 8 to 15 feet of branch width. Their size makes them a great choice for small gardens and backyards. Granny Smith apple trees will grow best with full sunlight. Near-full sunlight (with partial shade) is also acceptable if you live in an especially hot climate in the southwest.
